Completing a massive weekend for the Thunder Runners was Hoa Cuong Tran at the Manchester Marathon.
The Manchester marathon has been voted the best marathon in the country at the Running Awards with over 6000 people taking part. Hoa was cheered on again by top supporters Angel and Millie Tran. Well done team!
Taking part in her first running event today was Alison Wood at the Derby 10k.
Alison is new to running but you wouldn't know it with her fantastic effort smashing 8 mins of her personal target time. Well done Alison!
Our international member Thomas Wheildon completed another event in Dubai this weekend.
The Sand Pit run is a 10k adventure obstacle race - which started at 28 degrees Celsius and finished at 32 degrees! Scorching! Amazing work Tom!
Completing another event from the X Runner obstacle series was Charlotte Taylor, her husband and a friend.
This one was the Wild Mud run held at Osmaston Park in Derbyshire. Apparently this was the muddiest yet! Well done team!
This is the 3rd year the Thunder Runners have entered the Paris Marathon and this time it was the turn for marathon first timers Gar-Yee Wright and Clare Parkinson.
It was an epic weekend for both their families who went along to support and included sight seeing and a trip to Disney too. The events started Saturday morning where May-Yee Wong and Oli Parkinson took place in the Paris breakfast run which is a 5k from the Marathon finish to the Eiffel Tower. They were then followed by Thomas wright - one of our little Thunder Running superstars who raced round the Eiffel Tower gardens in the Haribo Marathoons race. Sunday 12th April the sun was shining hard giving it a tough day for running and spectating the marathon- both Clare and Gar-Yee completed the marathon and they were supported and cheered round by Oli Parkinson, Ryan Parkinson, Jason Rogers, May-Yee Wong and our little TRs- Thomas and Harry Wright and Oscar and Romy Parkinson. They all deserved a big celebration meal at the end for their efforts! Well done all! |
WELCOME TO THE THUNDER RUNNERS WEBSITE!
We are a small, but friendly running club and we welcome everyone to our website. Please get in touch if you would like more information about our club. “Try not to think of training as hard work. Don’t focus on how challenging the distance will be; enjoy yourself. Yes, get in as many miles as you can, keep climbing that ladder, but try not to worry if you come up short one day. Don’t lose sight of the fun.” CategoriesArchivesApril 2020 When you become a member of or renew your membership with Thunder Runners you will automatically be registered as a member of England Athletics.
